very personal guide to restaurants and the province of Lecce

In general the food is good on average, while avoiding the restaurants of Otranto and Gallipoli, especially in August ... but some places in downtown Lecce are tourist traps.

So to friends and associates to visit, here is the list of my favorite places, including some very cheap

• Lecce

1. aunts, traditional cuisine, as yet unsurpassed, especially cassata :-)
2. Hosteria spirits: traditional cuisine and fish, a bit 'expensive but high quality (thanks to Federica) (to be avoid the two courts, much publicized, but the last time there we took a rip-off)
3. Pio Bove, meat
4. Sushisalento superb, very good, do not sin tempura
5. The best pizza in the city: The Tower (by Leti 2). Do not believe those who tell you otherwise, other places are rip-off, especially like Neapolitan pizza. The best pizza in Magiada, and macaroni, but nothing comparable.
6. midnight blue, fish, expensive but good
7. The refuge of good fortune, good cuisine, very friendly and local managers spectacular (if you like the tradition ...) (thanks to Radenka)
8. The latest and between my favorite of the moment, the Moro Bar, a pute Salento, good food and great prices.
9. Road 66, sandwiches and salads especially good (thanks to Leti 2)

to avoid: Grandma Roofs, charred meat and lasts forever, and in general places scicchettosi modern and trendy, you do not eat well at all.
Leaving the city, several good surprises :-)
start with

• Arnesano: Li Stritt make a pizza excellent

• Soleto: Lu stroll, open for dinner only, the excellent potato croquettes (the rest is nothing special) (thanks to Momi), and a recent discovery, excellent meat, the best pieces I've eaten, Lu Cannarutu.
  

• Galatina: Court of Fire, a bit 'pretentious at times, but usually very good, excellent cuisine and fine (thanks Pierre).

• Porto Cesareo Cannizzu Lu, medium, or better, it seems good for a first glance of that comes from the big city, but when you get used to the excellent fish ... just average, but reasonable prices. Much better Antimo, fabulous fish soup.

• Porto Badisco: I do not know the name, but it is a sort of tavern on the side of the road opposite the sea, where you can just take the tray of curly, why go there ;-)

• Ruffano: The pharmacy of the healthy, and spend some 'time, but I think it's still good as I recall.
